Better Thyroid Function

Millions of people of all ages who struggle with energy and weight issues may need to take these steps for better thyroid function.

In the case of normal thyroid function, the thyroid gland takes iodine, found in many foods, and converts it into the thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).

The cells of the thyroid are the only cells in the body which can absorb iodine. These cells then combine the iodine, and the amino acid tyrosine, to make T3 and T4. These two important thyroid hormones are then released into the blood stream and are transported throughout the body where they control metabolism, the process whereby your body converts food into energy, and burns off excess calories which would otherwise be stored as fat.

Every cell of the body depends upon thyroid hormones for regulation of its metabolism. The normal thyroid gland produces about 80% T4 and about 20% T3, however, T3 possesses about four times the hormone “strength” as T4.

Normal thyroid function can be weakened by stress, pollution, poor lifestyle choices, bad eating habits, and a host of other activities.

It has now been proven that various nutrients directly support the healthy structure of the thyroid gland itself, the formation of thyroid hormone, and the activation and distribution of the thyroid hormones throughout the body.

These are all normal and natural functions that need to be properly maintained to support health.

New research has been showing that free radical problems, especially when there are deficiencies of selenium and manganese containing antioxidant enzymes, cause stress and diminish thyroid hormone function. If these nutritional deficiencies are not corrected, a person is more likely to struggle with body weight, insulin function, and poor metabolism.

Many individuals have some or all of the symptoms of slow metabolism, including low body temperature, fatigue, weight gain, trouble losing weight and keeping it off, constipation, poor mood, heavy head, dry skin, and energy problems in the afternoon.

Actually, improving thryoid function is fairly simple, although a genuine medical condition of the thyroid really should be treated medically.

Otherwise, many healthy living choices are valuable for thyroid health. The good old standbys, regular exercise, proper nutrition, proper rest, can work wonders. Among the vitamins and minerals, iodine, selenium, zinc, copper, beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and many parts of the Vitamin B Complex, are good.

You don’t have to get too complicated here. Taking a good daily multivitamin can cover the basics for you.

Some over-the-counter products, such as Thyromine Thyroid Health Supplement offer significant nutritional support to help maintain the normal function of thyroid hormone and better thyroid function.

The basic thyroid hormone, thyroxine, contains the amino acid tyrosine in the center, surrounded by four iodine molecules. This is known as T4. It is the hormone produced in the thyroid gland, but it is not biologically active.

Selenoproteins act in various ways to change T4 into T3, the active thyroid hormone. A lack of selenium significantly impairs the formation of thyroid hormone (T4) in the thyroid gland and activation of it to T3 throughout the body.

While actual thyroid function should be evaluated by a doctor, many people with a sluggish thyroid (hypothyroidism), or even an overactive one (hyperthyroidism), can benefit from nutritional support short of actual medical intervention.

Thyroid support supplements, such as Thyromine, Thypro, and other products, can work very well for better thyroid function in many people who have thyroid malfunctions.

L-Tyrosine, one of the most active natural ingredients of Thyromine works to stimulate the metabolism. Guglipid works to lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol. Adrenal Powder from Bovine helps regulate your body’s stress levels. Piper Longum Extract increases the production of thyroid hormones and stimulates the immune system. Finally, Ginger extract works to prevent blood clots and is used to treat digestive problems. Using a product like Thyromine can help normalize your thyroid function and help you escape from the stressful results of an improperly functioning thyroid.
